Haute couture for haute cuisine

 

New York-based Tihany Design created MLE’s first battery-operated lamp. Designed for restaurants, bars, and rooftops, ALESSIA embodies the essence of Italian craftsmanship.

The diamond-patterned glass is mouth-blown by our master glassmakers, the metal components are hand-finished, and select internal details are 3D-printed to ensure maximum transparency.

 

 

The light output has been carefully designed to avoid glare while directing light precisely where and in the quantity needed: the tabletop is adorned with rays of light emanating from the diamond pattern, while the same pattern breaks up the beam at the top, dispersing it in various directions and softly illuminating the diners' faces. Avoiding total darkness for the diners helps make the dining experience highly pleasant. Light intensity is adjustable from 0% to 100% via a touch sensor on the top of the glass, and the light tone is warm (2700K).

 

 

 

The natural leather strap is also handcrafted by the same artisans who work for fashion houses. The stitching uses thread that matches the color of the leather.

 

Batteries: two 2600mAh cells provide 8 hours of operation at 50% power. The batteries are recharged via a cable with a coaxial connector and a USB plug.

 

 

 

ALESSIA can take on different looks depending on the tones and finishes selected by the interior designer.

In addition to the wide range of metal finishes offered by MLE, ALESSIA is available with metal components in either a smooth or hammered finish, and with internal glass in a clear or amber finish. This results in four base options, each of which can be further customized.

 

 

Tihany Design is a multidisciplinary studio specializing in luxury hospitality design.
